Form a Chapter in Your Area
Since we are currently the only chapter in Oregon, we do what we can to keep in touch with people and issues throughout the state. However, almost all of our activities are in the greater Portland area. If you live too far away to participate in these activities, why not form a chapter in your area? Go to www.au.org and look under the "Get Involved" tab, or contact us at keepthemseparate@aol.com. Our chapter leaders would be happy to share what we have learned by running a local chapter.
Invite Us to Your Group’s Meeting Or Event
Are you a member of a group that has meetings with speakers? If so, please contact us. We have speakers who will talk about the importance of church/state separation and its basis in the U.S. Constitution. We also offer talks aimed specifically at church/state separation in public schools.
We like to set up a table and hand out literature and talk informally to interested individuals about church/state issues. If you have an idea abut where we could set up a table, please contact us.
We are in the Portland area but will consider invitations up to a few hours away. Please contact us at: keepthemseparate@aol.com.
Renew Your Membership
If you are already a member and wish to renew, please send your contribution directly to AU at 518 C St., Washington, DC 20002, or use your credit card at: www.au.org. Our national office is now handling all renewals. Then they support our chapter based on how many chapter members renew.
Note:
If you are already a member of Americans United, you may join our chapter at no extra charge. Just contact us at the above address or at keepthemseparate@aol.com and tell us you are an AU member and would also like to join our chapter. Although we are based in the greater Portland area, we are the only chapter in Oregon and we cover Oregon and NW issues. You do not have to live in our area to join.
