Our Church/State Meetup

Join us at McMenamins Tavern and Pool conveniently located on NW 23rd Ave., just off I-405. (1716 NW 23rd Ave.) Free on-street parking.

Our chapter sponsors this group so like-minded people can meet, socialize and discuss issues informally. It is open to everyone. Newcomers are especially welcome! Please join us and bring a friend!

March 26 – 28NW Regional Freethought Association Conference

Our chapter president will participate in panel discussion about release time programs, which pull elementary students out of class for religious instruction. There is also a session on current separation of church and state legal issues. The conference will be held in the Seattle area this year. If you are interested we encourage you to attend.

Americans United is a religious liberty watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1947, the organization educates Americans about the importance of church-state separation in safeguarding religious freedom.

The Columbia Chapter of AU is based in the greater Portland area, and is the only chapter in Oregon.
